So - I've been really really good about posting my pictures from the different things I've been doing - just not on my blog...
I've been putting them on my facebook account, which I really like doing, because I can organize them into albums and put comments on them and such. It's a fun way to share my pictures. But, it makes me lazy about posting them on here, because I've already posted them to facebook - and facebook is actually easier to post them too.
But - here's the good news! I've discovered a way that I can share all of those pictures with my blog via a link to the facebook albums that I've made!! WHOO HOO! So with that, here are TONS of pictures!!

Holy Cow, I'm a slacker
So, I've noticed that for November I've only posted a few blogs...wow. I really have intended to write more...
Things have been pretty busy around here. And honestly, while they are uber busy, it's not a whole lot to write about. It seems we've fallen into a routine of daily life that leads to being busy, but not all that exciting! Austin has bball practice every day after school. Brian has bball practice every Tuesday after school. They have scouts and mutual, and homework...I have presidency meetings, and general mom stuff...
Turkey Day was good yesterday - and I'm currently putting up Christmas (but taking a break). Hans has the kids for the whole weekend. He picked them up from school on Wed. and will be bringing them back on Sunday evening. He took them out to Ocean Shores to his dad and step mom's house. I went over to Chris and Molly's house, as I do every year. We also went by Chris's brothers house to see some more of the family, and then headed over to Kirkland to see Molly's family. We went and saw the new 007 movie - which was really good, if you like that kind of stuff.
I am so grateful for such good friends. Especially yesterday, where I got to be involved with two different families, neither of which were MY family - and yet I fit in as if I were. I have known both families since I was little, and it has been wonderful to be a close part of them - to where I call the mom's Mom and the dad's Dad. It made yesterday SO much better than I expected it would be. Honestly, Wednesday was a hard day for me. I dreaded the holiday. I didn't want to be with out my kids. I didn't want to be without my family (who all were together in AZ - even my sister from Utah got to go, and my grandparents from CA!) Wednesday evening I was being a party pooper, and really just wanted to stay in bed all weekend. Molly pulled me out of it, and persisted in dragging me around with her, despite my cranky weepy mood...
Thursday, I woke up with a good attitude, back to being happy. It helped that my period started! I'd never been so grateful for the start of that lovely monthly event. It meant that I wouldn't be PMS-y for the holiday, which I knew was part of my problem on Wed...Who knew that that would end up on the top of my "I'm grateful for..." list this year.

Basketball is running my life!
And I haven't even played in months!
Both of the boys are playing basketball now. I LOVE it! But - it makes schedules crazy! And, right now there is only practice going on - no games yet! Austin made the Jr. High team (I can't remember if I said that already or not). I'm so excited for him! He really deserves it! He's exhausted at the end of the day - they practice every day for almost 2 hours after school!! Games start next week, and I believe that there are only 6 of them - 3 each with the other two Jr. Highs in the area.
Brian is playing in the after school 5th and 6th grade team. For right now any 5th or 6th grader that wants to play basketball is allowed to play. From this group the coach will make a team of about 10-12 guys to play in a tournament against all the other elementary schools in the area. Austin got to do this last year as a 6th grader. It's pretty fun. Practice is only one day a week (thank goodness!) and will go on until just before Christmas when Coach will pick the team members. The tournament games won't be till early Feb. I guess - so basketball will go on for a while for Brian.
So while basketball isn't really RUNNING my life, it sure has made it more busy! I can't complain though, because I really do like it. I was hoping to attend more of Austin's practices (or any of them for that matter...seeing as I haven't gotten to go to even one yet). I have, however, made it to all of Brian's, and have gotten to know the kids on the team. It is fun to watch them learn and grow over the season!
So - between both boys being in scouts/mutual and basketball, my RS calling, kids having school, having an ex to coordinate schedules with, a house to keep up on, and dates to go on - I'm swamped!
Speaking of dates - things with Chuck have been going really well. He's been to church 3 weeks in a row with me and has loved every minute. It seems the talks and the lessons are meant just for him. I have never been very involved in missionary work - I don't like to feel that I'm cramming anything down anyone's throat - but I have never met someone who seems like they have been primed for the gospel, that they are just WAITING for it to come into their lives. I've heard people tell stories like that - but to see that in action...it's fascinating!! He's made the decision to be baptized, but has some personal things to work out before that happens. I am so happy for him!

Catching up (yet again)
I can't believe it's been 2 weeks since I've blogged! Things have been so busy around here it's hard to keep everything straight! I've been doing good at keeping my facebook account updated, but not so great at the blog thing.
The kids and I had a wonderful Halloween weekend! Chuck (who was previously called Mr. C) came out for the weekend, stayed at Chris and Molly's house. We had a fun Halloween night, dressed up and took the kids to the trunk or treat. Made out with a decent stash (but not as much a previous years - YAY! LOL) Then we went back to the house for our annual watching of "Icabod Crane". Saturday morning we got up early and went on a road trip to Sequim. We did a lot of touristy sightseeing things and also attended a "berry battle". A friend of a friend owns a black berry farm, and once the cold weatehr moves in the berries aren't good for harvesting anymore. So, they throw a party - and throw berries! This years pictures aren't posted, but here is a link to some previous years pictures. It was a total blast, and not something that I plan to miss next year!
Sunday Chuck came to church with us. It couldn't have gone better if I had written a script for every person that he talked to...He'll be coming again this week, and is quite happy with everything he's learning so far. I couldn't be happier about that. :)
The kids are doing well in school - parent teacher conferences were good. It was interesting to go to a jr. high conference! They organize it quite well, I was impressed. Ausitn is, as always, getting all A's. Brian is doing good, although has started to slack a little and I have to remember to remind him more often about assignments. Austin has me spoiled. Kait is doing good too! She's improving on a lot of things that have always been a struggle for her, and I'm excited that her teacher has an interest in helping her, more than her previous teacher did.
Basketball season has started as well. Brian is on a intermural team for the school and currently only has practice/scrimage games once a week. Austin just spent the last week doing basketball tryouts for the school and the team list was posted yesterday - HE MADE THE TEAM!! It sounds like he'll be having practice every day after school, and sometimes on Saturdays! Can you say "HOLY BUSY SCHEDULE"? But - I love it. Watching the boys play basketball is one of my favorite things to do. It is something that I get to share with them, something I know something about! LOL
And with that, I'm off to start another busy weekend! :)
