April 5th??

Really? That was the last time I blogged?? I knew it had been a while, and I knew I felt behind - but WHOA!

So - a quick catch up of the month, now that it's the 29th...

We had a good spring break - which was covered a few post ago (the zoo trip).

I had a good surgery follow up appointment - everything looking good on the scar, although it is a little more irritated than she would like, but I get to go back again in a few more weeks to have it checked out again.

I took the kids to the Puyallup Spring Fair on Friday the 18th. It was military get in free day. It was also WASL testing in school, so I waited till after lunch/testing to take the kids out of school. I figured they deserved a break after all the hard stuff we've been through lately. We had a BLAST. What a wonderful day. I took my camera, pulled it out to get some fun pictures - and it says "no memory card"...I'd left it sitting on my desk after uploading pictures to the computer for blogging...SEE! I shouldn't post pictures! LOL So - no pictures of the fair. But we saw so many fun things. There was the Dock Dogs and Steve the Pretty Good (a magician who we saw last year at the fair and HAD to see again!). We of course had cotton candy and kettle corn. It was COLD out, and even SNOWED, but overall it was a wonderful day with my kids.

April 19th was Gabe's 12th b-day - we spent it with friends, just hanging out and playing games. He spent the night with some buddies and woke up to a wonderful Molly breakfast and a lazy, enjoyable, fun day.

Next came my trip to the vet for my dog Cody. Long story short, he has diabetes and now has to have insulin injections every day...It has been an interesting adventure.

The kids have been slightly sick, general cold type, for the last week or so, and this weekend I decided to catch it myself - only it hit me pretty hard. I spent Saturday on the couch - and most of Sunday too. Which, I'm sad to say, was Lucy's birthday. She kinda got jipped this year. I meant to decorate the house all up with streamers and balloons, but I just didn't have it in me. I did get presents wrapped and cake made - so it wasn't all bad, it just wasn't as great as I wanted it to be for her.

And that, I believe, catches us up for the month!

16 more days till I leave for my trip that I haven't really said much about. I'm excited, and not, all at the same time. I'm sad about leaving the kids for 2 weeks - I've never been gone from them for more than a weekend! And I'm nervous about all the logistics with the almost ex staying at the house while I'm gone. Then there is all the stuff I need to get done...it seems an ever growing list! But I am excited. I know I'll have a wonderful time, I know the kids will be fine. But I can't help but be a small part worry wart...

Breakfast in Bed

Ok, last one for the day, I promise!

This week, Gabe went over to a friends house to play. He came home very excited - his friend has chickens! What a cool pet. "They lay eggs! Fresh eggs mom!" HE got such a kick out of gathering some eggs, and was excited to cook me breakfast in bed the next morning. He made himself hard boiled eggs a few days in a row, and loved every minute of eating them.

His friend's mom reviewed with him how exactly to make srambled and fried eggs. He made them perfectly - they were YUMMY! And - he used seasoning salt in the eggs rather than regular salt - which I'd never had before, but really liked. And, because I'm having an issue with my taste buds since the RAI treatments (and can't taste salt) it was perfect because the eggs had good flavor!

Thank you Gabe for being such a good guy. I love you.

Spring Break Zoo Trip

For one of the days during spring break (Thursday) I took the kids to the Woodland Park Zoo. What a fun day! (and I've figured out the collage - although I'm completely frustrated by it currently, and am not 100% sure that I have it 100% figured out...)

I realized about about an hour into the trip that it was the most I'd been out of the house in over a month. The most I'd moved in over a month...and I was exhausted. Friday, the day after, I hurt. I think every muscle in my body was crying. Even muscles I didn't use for walking around...my arms even! I'm feeling better now, although still sore. And it was worth it. We all had a great time.

And look at my favorite exhibit:

I love Mom!

It's been so fun having my mom be able to be around so much over the last while. Even though this last trip for her wasn't our funnest since I spent most of it on the couch (litterally!), we still had fun. My brother, Andrew, who is on his mission in Argentina has been requesting pictures for a bit now - so I got out the camera and took a bunch. (Don't kill me Mom)

This slide show thing is pretty nifty!

Because I had the camera out, the kids decided to get in on the fun action - and I decided it was fun to snap a bunch of silliness.

Easter Fun!

See - I do actually take pictures!! I've been working on my procrastinating today. Here, you all can benefit from that. Pictures from Easter. Egg coloring, and hunting. And - I even figured out (I think!) how to do a slide show. I was trying for a collage type picture thing...but I haven't attained that level of blogging yet I suppose. I guess slideshow 101 comes before picture colleges 101. *shrug* Maybe someday I'll get there. For now, my fingers are crossed, as I hit the publish button and hope the slideshow actually works!

My lazy bum...

So - I've been procrastinating a lot lately. Some things I'm putting off because they are unpleasant (paying bills, calling the in laws) some things I'm putting off because I feel like I've fallen behind, and it's a pain in the behind to catch up on (blogging). So - I'm just picking up where I am, and if I get around to catching up, so be it. If I don't - you all just miss out. So there. =P

I have the bestest friends in the world. Last night I went to a baby shower for Laura. It was a much needed get away, and I had a wonderful time. It was so nice to get out of the house, to be away from the kids (it's been spring break this past week), to be around my friends, and to feel normal again. After all that I've been going through lately, I've started to feel...I don't know how to expalin it really - but I've felt different than other people. Most likely it just comes from being "sick" and having people always ask how I'm doing. Like I'm different. I mean, I am, I guess, but it really started to get to feeling like I wasn't fitting in because I was so "different". Then there was the isolation time period, when I was radioactive, and I really didn't fit in. I couldn't see people, couldn't hug people, couldn't even be around the kids. It was difficult. Anwyay, it was SO nice to be out with my friends, and feel normal again. Thank you guys for that! Thanks Laura for being prego, and having a shower. And thanks Heidi for putting it on! And thanks to all my wonderful friends for going - it was great to see you all!!!
